Well-received and rightly so, “Let Us Prey” is just great, it manages to be simultaneously twisted/brutal/bloody.. and also incredibly moral, even righteous. It keeps your interest with an intriguing and fairly original plot, and all throughout you are bombarded with shocking images of violence and carnage, all building to a fiery bloodbath of an ending. “Let Us Prey” certainly isn’t perfect but it’s damn good, and, aside from a few ‘stretches’ and the eye-rolling last-minute “twist”-ending, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
The movie begins with a strange man entering a small town in Scotland, eventually he ends up in the jail along with a few other townsfolk, and his intentions soon become clear. Everyone in the jail has something to answer for, something to pay for, even the officers… and the mysterious man, known only as “Six”, knows everything, and he’s there to see that they get what they deserve…and then some.
“Let Us Prey” is a remarkably ambitious and visually stunning, sure, the imagery may be horrific and disturbing, but the cinematography is breathtaking, nevertheless ;). Recommended to true fans of horror and gore! (And please don’t hold the ending against the rest of the film…… ..I seriously don’t know what they were thinking with that…“endings are hard”, sure, but that was LAME..aside from that, though, awesome movie!)
